Strategy 4 - Search Beneath the Surface for Hidden Meaning

The iceburg of conflict tears into our Titanic of peace and productivity! How true it is that beneath one small issue is a giant chunk of other things that cause this one issue to create huge problems. On p 140, the authors explain that real honesty is difficult. It may be even more difficult in work related relationships due to the fact that revealing failures and other conflicts at work may have serious implications. We might also consider that some people may not open up to just anyone...particularly those with whom they are haveing conflict. I may have to read this one more thoroughly!
What looks like a simple problem often has much deeper meaning, as you say. I hoped that when you were skimming you would indeed find some things that needed deeper reading!
